About The Owner

Sunny’s Peddler is a queer & woman owned business started in 2024 by Elena Volden.  Elena previously worked in private childcare for over a decade before deciding to start her own business. She attributes her passion for this business to the many years she spent planning and organizing events for families she worked for. She was able to see the creativity and passion each vendor poured into their products and services, and immediately gravitated towards becoming an entrepreneur herself. Being a strong proponent of supporting small and local businesses, Elena partnered with a local dairy to provide great quality ice cream made  with fresh ingredients, right here in Ontario. 

Prior to childcare and home management, Elena attended UW-Milwaukee and Milwaukee Area Technical College, earning a degree in Human Services. She has a genuine love for all people and feels happiest when serving others.
